Prof.dr.ir. L.J.G. van der Maesen is professor of Plant Taxonomy at the Wageningen University of Agriculture and has been involved in all activities of the Laboratory of Plant Taxonomy. He is a renowned taxonomist in the Legume family (particularly Cajaninae and Cicer) and has spearheaded several projects contributing to the knowledge of this economically important family of plants. Apart from contributing his knowledge in plant taxonomy, plant genetic resources and nomenclature of cultivated organisms, he will act as the contact person to the applied research community within the concerted action.
